Point Reyes National Seashore

After getting up early to see the Golden Gate Bridge on Mother’s Day, mom and I drove the rental car north on California Highway 1 – a beautiful twisty-turny drive – to Point Reyes National Seashore in Marin County.
Our first stop was in the town of Inverness, along the Tomales Bay (part of the San Andreas fault) to see the Point Reyes shipwreck. There were lots of professional photographers out that morning, and one nice guy took a photo of mom and me!
Then we drove in to the park, stopping at the cypress tree grove and then to the Point Reyes Lighthouse. We parked and walked to the lighthouse visitor’s center and then took the 30-story stairs down (and back up!) to the lighthouse. We even spotted some whales.
A beautiful morning!
