Along the Oregon coast, south of Cannon Beach and north of Manzanita, lies the beautiful Oswald West State Park along Highway 101. Spent a perfect day hiking the trails, including the Elk Flats Trail, Devil’s Cauldron Overlook, Short Sand Beach Trail, and the Necarney Creek Trail.

Seaside, Oregon is a family friendly beach town. Equal parts saltwater taffy and carnival games. What it really has going for it is its wide expansive beach with room to spread out, dip your toes in the water, sunbathe, play volleyball, or fly a kite.

Along the Oregon Coast, between Astoria and Seaside, lies Fort Stevens State Park. One of the more interesting spots in the shipwreck of the Peter Iredale. It ran ashore in 1906 and you can walk right up to the rusted hull.

In Portland, Oregon for a work conference. Everyone here kept talking about how mild and sunny the winter was. It must have extended into spring because I was treated to three glorious days of sunshine and warm weather. This was my first trip to Portland.
