Gibraltar Rock State Natural Area, Wisconsin

Gibraltar Rock State Natural Area, located in Columbia County, Wisconsin–near the town of Lodi, is about a 45 minute drive north of Madison.

Part of the Ice Age Trail system, the trail from the parking area winds its way up the hill to the top of a cliff with sweeping views of the Wisconsin River valley. Round trip, the trail is approximately 1.5 miles.

It was a beautiful day when I visited in May, but I think I’ll go back to see it again in autumn.
