New York City: The High Line

The High Line is one of the great new urban park spaces. Located on the Lower West Side, it sits on an abandoned elevated train track. The first section opened in 2009.

This was great stroll in the late afternoon sun. Lots of locals and lots of tourists. Everyone was enjoying the view.

To get there: We took the subway to 28th Street and then walked three blocks west down 28th and then up the stairway to the High Line. From there, we walked the High Line south to Gansevoort Street. At a leisurely pace, and stopping to take photos, it took around 30 minutes.
