Travel on the Side

The Wiouwash State Trail in Wisconsin (the name is taken from the four counties it traverses: Winnebago, Outagmie, Waupaca, and Shawano) consists of two segments. I bike and hike on the southern segment in Outagamie and Winnebago counties, near Appleton. The trail here runs for 22 miles. A former railroad bed, it’s a nice, rural trail to explore and perfect for hiking and biking.

Surrounding the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is the beautiful Cofrin Memorial Arboretum, featuring several miles of hiking and biking trails. It’s perfect for any season, but summer is my favorite.
