Hop On Hop Off: LA, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica

Still recovering from yesterday! We did a whirlwind full-day tour of downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica using Starline Tours Hop On-Hop Off pass.

We liked the bus tour because it gave us flexibility of where we wanted to go without having to stick to a rigid schedule…and we didn’t have to deal with LA traffic. A win for us!

From our hotel in Anaheim, we caught the Orange County bus to take us a few minutes down the street to the Anaheim train station, near the Angels baseball stadium. From there we boarded an Amtrak train to Los Angeles Union Station. Leaving just after 8am, the trip takes about 45 minutes.

After exiting the station, we crossed the plaza and well…hopped on the Hop On Hop Off bus!

This line was Star Line’s Purple Route which took us from Union Station and over to Hollywood. We passed by Little Tokyo and the Staples Center before arriving on Hollywood Blvd.

After exiting the bus, we visited Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the celebrity footprints, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Then we got on the Red Route bus to take us to Beverly Hills. Exiting near the courthouse, we walk towards Rodeo Drive. At the Paley Center for Media, we viewed a really cool TV exhibit with items from shows like Friends, Seinfeld, West Wing, The Big Bang Theory, and more.

Next up, we boarded the Yellow Route bus in Beverly Hills to take us to Santa Monica. We had lunch at Santa Monica Pier and enjoyed the ocean views.

Then we made our way back to Beverly Hills and caught the hop on hop off bus back to Hollywood. A little short on time, we took the subway at Hollywood & Highland back to Union Station to catch our train. We were back in Anaheim at around 11pm.
