Concord, New Hampshire

Drove up to Concord, the state capital of New Hampshire. Of course, New Hampshire is in the news every four years because of its first-in-the-nation presidential primary, which the state jealously guards.

Also interesting: the state legislature, known as the General Court, is huge – 424 members. It’s the largest state legislature and the fourth-largest English-speaking legislative chamber…anywhere!

Another oddity: Unlike most states, the term of governor is two years instead of four. Also, the state features a bifurcated executive branch, with a governor and a five-member executive council.
