Manchester, New Hampshire is the largest city in the state and is an old mill town on the Merrimack River. With a nice, walkable downtown and plenty of bars and restaurants, there is a lot to like here. Here are a few photos, mostly from the downtown area.

A perfect day for a hike. We went to Mount Major, located in the Belknap range near Alton, New Hampshire. At 1,786 feet, Mount Major offers great views of Lake Winnipesaukee and the forests of the surrounding region. Summer is coming to a close with the Labor Day weekend approaching. We opted to spend Friday along the New Hampshire seacoast – at 18 miles, it’s the shortest in the country.
